master copy George Edwards- toucan

'Toucan', watercolours A4, cartridge paper.  A copy of a watercolour by English artist George Edwards.  For a project on wetcanvas.  I enjoyed painting this endearing bird: possibly because it is so brightly coloured.

George Edwards, 1694-1773. English watercolourist: painter of birds and other animals. His masterpiece was called 'A natural history of uncommon birds and animals'.

I would love to do an A-Z of birds in watercolour sometime.
